Product Description Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack's world forever. In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant "The Shack" wrestles with the timeless question, "Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?" The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You'll want everyone you know to read this book!

Good Book 04 July, 2009 It is definitely a page turner. The author has a good of explaining things, but I won't necessarily make it all theology (it was not written to be such anyways).
Just ready it carefully and enjoy!

The Shack 04 July, 2009 Whether you are religious or not, the book has a lesson for learning to forgive those that have offended you in life and allow yourself to grow beyond the pains from the past and enjoy the moment. Our attitude affects our decision making, which takes place every awaking moment. It reminds me of a beautiful email I received recently which has the 90/10 quotient. We have no control over 10% of the things that happen to us but we have 90% control over how we react to everything that happens to us in life. Jack

The Shack 04 July, 2009 The Shack was bought for someone else -- two people that bought it were talking about it last night -- one liked it better than the other, but I got the feeling that they did not know what all the hype was about.
Amazon makes ordering books so very easy -- thanks.

The Shack 04 July, 2009 I have read and re-read The Shack more than a dozen times. On occasion, I would finish the last page and turn back to the first page to start re-reading. I have also given this book to ten friends and relatives. This is the most significant novel I have read in my more than 85 years.

The Shack 04 July, 2009 I was very impressed with The Shack. I think everyone that reads it comes away with something different. It really made me think about life and what it really means. Had to read it twice to take in all of it. I think this book could be a life changer for some people.
