27 July, 2009
I bought this book not knowing hardly anything about guitars and simply had a hand-me-down guitar and wanted to learn how to play. This book is awesome is that it details everything you need to know. Has all the basics you need. It was very easy to understand and very easy to read. The cd that it comes with is great to play along with. Highly recommended for any beginner.

I liked the product and the service was good. The dvd was broken when it arrived. Looks like it could have been the fault of the mailman. If you have an extra disk, I would appreciate it. Considering the effort you went to in shipping to keep it from being broken, its not necessary.

Thorough And Easy To Follow Reference
23 June, 2009
I am new to guitar (obviously) and have an instructor. This book helps me to better understand the technical side of what my instructor discusses in our lessons. It has an easy to understand section for practically every topic a beginner would want to understand. I don't think this book or any other is a substitute for an instructor. There's no real replacement for a live expert observing your habits and calling on his/her experience to address your specific needs. However, in my opinion, it's equally important to have a solid reference guide at home - and this book is it.
