Good For The Computer Illiterate
02 March, 2006
I just substituted my own files for the ones named in the book and had my web page up and running in just a few days. I liked the picutures of what to push on the screen. And I'm only up to the third chapter.

What An Awsome Book!

This is an excellent book if you are starting to learn how to design Web pages. Make sure you follow each step. It is an excellent step by step book, which also shows pictures to make sure you are in the right dialog box, etc.

I'm giving this book a one because I'm in a bad mood right at the moment.First let me say that I am a web designer, and have been building sites for several years. I've used Frontpage before, but have been using Dreamweaver for the past 3 years.Anyway, I'm teaching a class on Frontpage, and was looking for a book to use for the class. This isn't it.Chapter 11 on publishing your site covers everything except publishing to a remote server from your local machine (which is the most common way to publish). It finally covers publishing on the next chapter entitled "Managing Your Site", but unfortunately the instructions aren't even close to what is available in FrontPage 2002. Evidently they were using a pre-release version of the software. Try going through the instructions on p.279 ????? "Views Bar" "ServerAdmin" "Web Folders" icon?????? I had to glance at the cover of the book to make sure I hadn't accidently picked up a book on FP 2000 by mistake.I haven't really explored the book very thoroughly, so it might be a decent book, but just from looking at a few different topics I'm ready to toss it already.

Poor Book
13 November, 2008
I agree with the reviewer who found this book confusing because there are errors in the instructions.
Trying to use this book was extremely frustrating, and I finally gave up trying. Possibly Microsoft had the writers put it together using a beta version and then never had anyone edit it after the retail version was released.
From now on, I'm going to try books first in the library before buying them. Interestingly, Step by Step for Excel 2000 is a good book.
Best luck to everyone in learning
FrontPage 2002,
C. Smart
